What Is MrBeasts ViewStats. Is It Cool?

viewstats 3

ViewStats is an online product from MrBeast that allows you to:

  • See what video creators have done/ edited their video
  • How did it rank
  • Other videos and content creators that are similar.

It is very similar to a few Youtube stats pages- especially SocialBlade

MrBeast released a video about it on the 23rd Nov 2024 with 100k views within a few hours.

The video title is nice:

  • How I get over 100 million views per video
  • The Thumbnail is direct- One Secret

Ultimately the video is an ad for ViewStats. But oddly enough people are watching it and giving the video rave reviews.

Why?

Because it is an interesting video. You know deep down that it is an ad. People who want to become successful on Youtube know MrBeast and who doesn't want to become mini-MrBeasts?

ViewStats and SocialBlade

The above is ViewStats with T-Series plugged into it. The following is from SocialBlade with T-Series plugged into it:

viewstats socialblade

Similar content given. The both probably have the same free content but ViewStats seems cleaner and Socialblade seems like it has more.

But both probably get their information from the Youtube API.

Even the projections, and future projections are similar.

What is different are the similar channels. Both seem to be a little off here.

The top similar channel to T-Series from ViewStats is SongTrix- 104k subs, 3m views and 100 videos, 89 similar score:

Clearly, no disrespect to SongTrix, that is not the most similar to T-Series. Sony Music India is: 62.2m subs, 32.2B views, 5.8k videos...a simialr score 85.

SocialBlade: MrBeast is number 1. So they are going off the most popular channels rather than the most popular Bollywood music:

ViewStats difference

You get the most information (and what is advertised on the MrBeast video) when you subscribe. With SocialBlade you get stuff but we couldn't really figure out what. This is also a cool education tip :)

  • Writing what you think people like from a developer point of view is not the same as writing what people want from a customer point of view. Both SocialBlade and ViewStats probably offer similar premium packages. ViewStats just says it better.

Monthly subscription is about $49 US and for a year $479 US for ViewStats. For that you start to get a suit of tool for marketing of Youtube videos. The following (taken directly at time of writing):

  • Alerts: Track specific videos and get notified when they hit key milestones. It's like a turbocharged YouTube search, keeping you in sync with what's trending and relevant. Use keywords to find what you want and exclude what you don't. Stay up to date and fine-tune your strategy effortlessly.
  • Outliers: Find outstanding YouTube videos that are performing better than average. Each video gets an Outlier score to show its success. Use keywords, categories, and time filters to discover these gems. Compare videos and channels to uncover trends and learn why they stand out. Adopt what works and boost your views!
  • Thumbnails: Your shortcut to stunning YouTube thumbnails! Search by keywords, YouTube links, or your own image to find successful thumbnails. Get inspired, explore different designs, and turn your ideas into eye-catching visuals.
  • A/B Tests: Gain valuable insights into creator's efforts to enhance their video performance! Easily search by channel, video, and category to compare performance metrics and thumbnail variations before and after each test. Analyze these insights to pinpoint strategies that boost viewership and refine your content. Stay updated on trends to tailor your videos and thumbnails to reach more people and get more views!
  • Collections: Save those inspiring clips, organize them neatly into folders and projects, and jot down your ideas with important notes. Whether it's gathering inspiration for your next project or delving into emerging trends, our tool keeps you focused and efficient. With it, brainstorming becomes a breeze, allowing you to refine your planning and chart your improvements. This tool is a content creator's best friend when it comes to video inspiration and ideation!

As a side. The video explains how thumbnails can be generated to create ideas for thumbnails.

That is not what we would have said. The thumbnail idea would be cool if it listed all the related thumbnails in rank to how many views the video got. Therefore the thumbnail is directly related to traffic  and views- to which the main video is all about.

These seem cool, but are they enough?

Can ViewStats be improved?

Yes, we know it has just been created. But for fun what else could be offered- maybe added over time?

Now the following might be what ViewStats is offering but it is hard to figure out if they are or not. Just some ideas:

  1. MrBeast. Surely we want to see MrBeast. Throw in some exclusive only for subscribers (not able to download etc) videos of MrBeast actually discussing some of his videos. Some behind the scenes. Remember people are trying to emulate MrBeast, so why not promote that fact?
  2. You could even have a quick Mastermind group- 20 people per month, 1 hour discussing videos with Jimmy and his team. You could even have multiple Mastermind groups with different elements of the video being discussed by different team members- sign into which one you want
  3. How do you collab? There needs to be some "how to" videos on here
  4. Stats. Where and what part of the videos are getting clicked on- when do people click on a specific link within the video or in the info area. A video heatmap would be nice
  5. Can you offer some pictures or animations- royalty free
  6. A/B tests are nice, but we want to know what can get analysed. Thumbnails are one, but what are the other stats that can be changed or tracked.
  7. A resource centre. Wouldn't it be cool if you could use the same or similar tools as MrBeast and other Channel creators? Some of these would have % off their price and affiliate linked.
  8. Vimeo. It gets left out a lot but Youtube doesn't go into China which is a huge market. Vimeo does. Can your tools be also used within other video sharing sites?

Is it going to help MrBeast?

Well yes. Just think. You have a product that absorbs information (you can add a broswer extension to find stats on websites). This information also helps your product. This information is also realtime and not too reliant upon Youtube. You also have a subscription list and a predictable income. As long as you can maintain that income and subscription list then that product is going to be valuable.

MrBeast is insulating himself from Youtube. Which is wise.

As always we wish MrBeast all the best
