Can You Really Sell PLR Ebooks On Amazon?

To sell plr ebooks- especially on Amazon is very grey indeed.

Why?

Because a lot of people won't follow this guide and then that makes it really hard for everyone else.

First up. What is PLR?

Private Label Rights. This means that you can sell the book if you want to but the author has the credit, it is not "yours". Amazon wants you to be the author and you can't sell someone elses work unless you become a publisher. Master Resell Rights on the other hand allows you to change the book and sell it like your wrote it.

You can find tons of PLR websites that sell good/ OK/ bad eproducts.

Some good sites also have the amount of PLR that has been downloaded. If they don't then there could be 5 products out there or 5000. You just don't know. And that is a lot of competition.

So what is the strategy?

Sell PLR ebooks on Amazon? Point 1.

Don't.

Build up your email list and then give the ebook away as a quick gift for sign up. If you find your content is getting a little thin then give it to your list in an email blast.

Sell PLR ebooks on Amazon? Point 2.

Don't

Take them apart and then add to them and apply them to your website as a really long content piece. Or offer it as a 2 part guide as a sign up bonus for your list.

If I gave everyone who bought one of my ebooks the sales copy (which can be copied from the website anyway, who is to stop you?) then there is gonna be a lot of similar websites out there. If I gave you the html as well, your site is gonna be similar to many sites out there and your earning potential decreases.

Google will also look at similar sites as spam, especially if everyone who bought the package submits to Google. Then you have the directories. If you submit the same site as everyone else then you are gonna be rejected.

This is what a lot of people do not understand and it is what a lot of publishers do not talk about. Why? Because it will wreak their business.

To make money with resells you should never resell the package.

Strange I know, but some marketing genius thought of resell ideas to make money and the only people to make money are the publishers.

You see if someone sold an ebook at $10 and another at $5 and another for free then most people will go for the free one.

The key to selling plr ebooks.

Ken Evoy is the creator of Site Build It! (SBI!) and has made quite a few dollars doing just that. However it wasn't a good idea that just made the money. Ken worked very hard to achieve success and he continually does so. If you bought one of his ebooks you got a lot of bonus stuff with it. You even got another full priced ebook from a top author for free.

If you signed up for his affiliate program, the 5-pillar affiliate program then he gave you some expensive tracking software for free. What was the end result?
Ebook sales went up.

People talked about it and spread the word. The affiliates themselves were happy because they had something that worked great and was free, a sort of "thank-you for joining".

Sell PLR ebooks on Amazon? Point 3.

You can.

But it involves a combination of point 2.

You also have to be sure that this topic and format is going to sell because you are going to put some time into this. Also, if you bought your PLR product then you have to cover that loss.

Use the PLR ebook as an outline of what you could write.

I found that I could write quicker without doing this, because as you go in depth with the topic you will find the ebook to be quite basic or they can be misleading. Sometimes you start over. You also can't use the same text as the original book so you have to redo some of the text. Amazon has some cool computers that hunt out copied text and you could be banned from the platform from going against its policies on copyright material.

It isn't just Amazon, most eproduct platforms have the same policies.

It is wise to change it all but keep the idea/ topic/ titles.

The ebook will have a contents page and you will go away and research those topic titles. Use AI to fill in some of the blanks and to add extra content on top of your own researched content. You will find that you will find more of them that was missed out. You add those to the relevant place in the contents.

Eventually with adding and taking away you will have a much better ebook than the PLR one that you downloaded.

Sell PLR ebooks on Amazon? Point 4.

You also need to get rid of the ebook cover picture and either:

1. do it yourself
2. get someone to do it for you. This is the simplest and so much easiest area to go down. You can get ebook covers for $70-90 that are super professional looking with specs that you state ("and ebook cover to comply with Amazon ebook guidelines"). If you have a graphical AI, those pictures can be pretty cool.
   

I would also redo the main sales page. mainly because you don't want a samey page just like everyone else who is selling the same PLR.

If you find you like the page, try to change the text (now that you have a much better ebook than the one downloaded). Send it to people who are in the niche and have some followers on the social sites to get their opinion/ review. Most will be open to the idea especially if you have been commenting and being helpful on their forums/ posts.

This then gives you more flexibility and much better chance to sell something at a higher price than other people are selling for. You are now not really competing with others who have downloaded the same PLR product. You have a "brand new" product.
