VaynerMedia

vaynermedia5

Now we thought that VaynerMedia (a Gary Vaynerchuk company) would be quite difficult to check out. And this is not comping off as pompous but things start to stand out if you don't really know about the company. But then it changed, the review got hard, then easy and then hard. This is what this breakdowns theme is going to be.

Now Gary Vaynerchuk (or Gary Vee) is quite a welknown celeb in his own right. He has launched multiple companies and invested in multiple other companies that are household names. So the idea to suggest that a large company like VaynerMedia can do better just seems...odd.

Gary is like Peas- you either like them or not. But I don't see the issue with Gary, how he comes across or even that he is self promoting. He is playing the long game here. Give stuff away, publish content regularly and people will associate you with knowing what you are doing. So Gary is the keystone where he touches each brand and that promotes the brand. And he has figured out that there has to be a point of being online. If you are going to put in the effort there has to be a play off at some point.

Actors do this all the time. They have Media Junkets where they go on TV, Podcasts, Ads- you name it for when their movie is going to come out. They are in the promotion game here. That is the reason. Celebrity association and promotion to a single specific movie. Next movie? Same thing happens.

Now lets list the companies that Gary is part of (and what they do):

  • VaynerX- a holding company of all the other companies
  • VaynerMedia- a media agency
  • Gallery- A Media company (focusing on positivity ?)
  • One37PM- lifestyle media company specializing in mens lifestyle (looks similar to The Hustle)
  • PureWow- multimedia brand that educates and inspires women
  • VaynerSpeaks- different speakers bureau
  • Sasha Group- grows brands (?maybe)
  • VaynerCommerce- growth agency
  • Vayner3- "We help our partners build new markets and revolutionize digital engagement, charting a new course for enterprises."
  • EvaNosidam- makes documentary shorts to music videos, social-channel series to podcasts
  • Tingley lane- a corporate trade, media and data company providing omni-channel solutions to marketers.

Oooh, found another one which is found on Garys website but not on the above VaynerX website, but is a sub of this company:

  • Marketing for the Now- ?Podcast featuring marketing experts talking about the lastest and greatest in marketing

So the VaynerMedia is part of VaynerX, their companies are...

It seems like many are marketing agencies. Now this might have completely simplified them all and might be right off base. But I am trying to figure out the difference between EvaNosidam and Sasha Group. Or VaynerCommercce and Vayner3. I can get it to a point One37PM and PureWow.

So it also seems like they all cross promote (which is not a bad thing). The following is from Gallery:

Looking on the websites, VaynerCommerce seems to be an online agency

vaynermedia2

Vayner3 seems to be aiming as an online advertisement agency but geared towards mainly blockchain and online possible NFTs?

The pluses and minuses of VaynerMedia...and VanyerX

From the outset it is clearly obvious that the main plus point is that Gary Vee is at the head of this. Whenever anything is mentioned then Gary Vee is there. All the websites have some link or hint of the Gary.

From the outset, it is clearly obvious that the main negative is Gary Vee.

?

OK. So you are a business and you have seen the content that Gary produces- similar to Tony Robbins- content, videos etc. All wrapped up in VaynerMedia and VaynerX. You want to be a part of that. You want to be with Gary, you want Gary to look over your stuff. The promotion that Gary does for himself is great but by association you also want Gary to be part of the company you are working with.

But.

Subconsciously, you are also thinking

  • "if Gary is working with me, is he also working with someone else? Am I going to get full Gary or busy Gary?"

Now VaynerX has probably sorted this out behind the scenes but it is a question that is obviously not answered fully on any Gary referenced site. The picture below is from VaynerMedia.

vaynerx

The next is from VaynerCommerce

But...this is what you want...you want Gary!

On the flip side people are saying that Gary can be too out there and some of his language can be...a little direct. But:

  • this could be by design...because it has made him memorable and in the news
  • Like MrBeast chocolate, Gary seems to be disrupting an industry. You are seeing something different, and in many ways, different can be good
  • Gary has been around for a while within the industries that you want to be in...also he knows online and industry celebs- further ligitimising the Gary Vee brand

But no! We don't want to be wondering if Gary is going to contact us or be there for us. We also want to know that these companies are not just websites or Twitter handles?! As:

  • are any of these good stats for VaynerMedia: 18.4k subscribers on Youtube. 58K subs on Facebook. Or One37PM- Youtube: 488K subs, Twitter account doesnt work, 767k followers on Insta
  • Gary Vees social presence seems to be promoting quite a bit of Gary Vee stuff like VeeFriends, day trading book, want to start a business Youtube videos, how to make your first $100k video

But again. You want Gary Vee to promote himself because he is behind the businesses that you want to be part of.

And so the cycle continues.

So what can VaynerMedia do?

The person that has something similar is Tony Robbins as mentioned before. Tony has built a business around Tony and you know what that business is- an Action coach. So we have:

  • Date With Destiny is a flagship event and a lot of products are based around this
  • Unleash The Power Within
  • Life Mastery
  • Business Mastery
  • Wealth Mastery
  • Coaching
  • A ton of apps, software and products with the above topics in mind.

All these can be found on Tonys website. They all link to one another in some way shape or form. they all have Tonys name splashed across

tonyrobbins

But...how many businesses does Tony have? According to his LinkedIn Page over 100. A lot are investments/ early stage funded.

But there is some things that could be done with VaynerMedia and here are what they could be:

  • Create mentorship programs/ coaches- directly trained by Gary Vee. Its exclusive and gets you in to the companies, you know that you will be seen by Mini Garys- because his name is behind this exclusive training. It could even be like the Apprentice (could also hold a contest to get on to the show then videos on how the contestants do). This seems to be the main way to expand VaynerX. But still have an in:
  • Have then exclusive Gary Vee consultation/ coaching. This is where Gary does his thing in your company. You pay for that privilege and Gary is there. Then Gary can create a VaynerMedia plan and away the company goes with other VaynerX properties.
  • Can any of the companies be consolidated? Some seem to be doing very similar stuff. It is also odd that a VaynerMedia wouldn't use other items within the VaynerX house of companies. Now they might do, but it doesn't really say. If not then could they be be used as a in-house team that companies go to on a process through the media pipeline? So...at stage 3 of our revolutionary process you go our propriety Vayner3.
  • Why no links out from Gary Vee? The marketing around Gary doesnt seem to promote the businesses. Now this sounds completely odd, but the VeeFriends and (online) marketing are what Gary seems to be known for. Even on Youtube main link description, there are no links away to his other companies, just to his social sites:
garyvee

Compare this to Tony Robbins on Youtube description:

tonyrobbins2
  • Would it be better to try and choose multiple small brands and then accelerate them? I would love to see a company that is doing a couple of hundred or thousand a year- then gets the VaynerMedia treatment. If you also had early stage financing into said company then could that company then be sold now that it is more valuable?
  • Unsure of what some of the companies actually do. Also unsure how those companies  have helped other companies. So with some of the videos/ads that have been created- what was the payoff- what did the ad generate. Was it to make a brand aware ad or was it to drive people to somewhere. That doesn't seem to be explained that well.

So we have VaynerSpeakers: "At VaynerSpeakers, we believe that no two events are the same. We want to understand what makes your event unique so we can work together to find the perfect speaker to for your next event".

Yeah, but...what does that actually mean? It would be nice to show videos of the events- have them linked up to Youtube. But instead we have Gary (again :) ) and we have a Youtube channel of 2.67k subs and a TedTalk video. But it sounds the same as any other TedTalk and 9.3k views?:

As always we hope VaymerMedia all the best.
